Westpac have launched a new advertising campaign using the music of Danish singer/songwriter Agnes Obel (Wintrup).
"Fuel to Fire" written and performed by Agnes Obel features as the musicbed for The Westpac Bicentennial Foundation digital, social, free to air and subscription TV campaign.
The song appears on her sophomore album Aventine (out through Liberator) which has been top five in five territories. Les Inrocks (French music magazine) included her on their 2013 cover alongside Daft Punk, Arcade and Nick Cave as the "miracle of autumn". Agnes Obel came to international attention when Grey's Anatomy featured her early song "Riverside".
The commercial is set against the backdrop of the iconic Australian outback, the creative narrative explores two of Australia's great innovators, famed eye surgeon, Fred Hollows and notable cancer researcher, Adele Green. It draws on the unique drive these exceptional Australians have had to dream big, think differently and make a difference. It re-enforces the importance of supporting those Australians who have the potential to change the world and shape the future.
