Top 30 nominations named for APRA Song of the Year
Posted on 12 Apr 2013
30 songs were announced this week, as nominations for Australia's most prestigious peer-voted music prize - APRA Song Of the Year.
Congratulations to Alberts writer Wally De Backer (Gotye) who is nominated for 2 songs, Easy Way Out and Save Me.
Over the past few weeks, APRA members across the country have got behind their peers and nominated their favourite song from last year in an effort to help recognise and celebrate outstanding Australian songwriters.
“Congratulations to all our members who have made the shortlist. It's the largest peer-voted music award in Australia - all nominations are provided by APRA's songwriter, composer and music publisher members and APRA members get to vote on the final recipient, so it's a real honour to make the shortlist and to be named as the final recipient of the Award. I wish all our nominees well as the voting process commences in earnest." said APRA CEO Brett Cottle.
