We’re always ecstatic when our published songs and songwriters accomplish great things, so it's with great pleasure that we announce Alberts songwriter Mark O’Shea has signed a record contract with Sony Music Australia. As part of the Australian country music husband-and-wife duo O’SHEA, Mark and Jay O’Shea will be releasing their debut album Mr. and Mrs. on Friday 30 September.
The pair, who have resided in Nashville since 2007, are accomplished songwriters and have written or co-written all eleven tracks on Mr. and Mrs. Their co-writers include Kim Carnes and Shawn Colvin, as well as top Nashville hit-makers Dave Berg, Georgia Middleman, Josh Leo and Tim Nicholls. The songs range from up-tempo tracks like the CMC #1 hit “Smash” & “Old School”, to the heart-felt beauty of the latest single “Meant To Be”, which is already showing signs of becoming another hit, debuting this week on the CMC chart at #23.
We are also delighted that another Alberts-published country song has hit #1 on the CMC charts. “Scars”, written by Lee Kernaghan, Lawrie Minson and Matt Scullion and recorded by Kernaghan and US country music sensation Dierks Bentley, has climbed the CMC chart this week to #1. “Scars” is taken from Lee Kernaghan’s platinum selling album Planet Country (ABC Music) and will feature on the 42 track Ultimate Hits album (ABC Music) released next month.
