- One Eye Open | Roscoe James Irwin
Roscoe James Irwin’s First Official Music Video
Posted on 22 Jan 2014
'One Eye Open' is the first video from Roscoe James Irwin's 'Wasted EP'
Directed by James Base (son of famed Australian author Graham Base), the idea for the clip was developed on the road, while Roscoe and James were touring the world with The Cat Empire last year.
The clip has Roscoe rocking out with his band, shot at Ben Edgar’s (Washington/Gotye) newly finished ‘Pick and Mix’ Studio in the Dandenong’s where Roscoe known as a musician with little free time, is currently recording songs for a follow-up EP to be released during the year.
The single ‘One Eye Open’ is getting much love on community radio as well as Triple J’s Unearthed digital station.
2013 was a year of first's for Roscoe. The Empress Hotel hosted his first ever residency, he played St. Kilda Festival and was the closing acoustic act at sunrise for Melbourne’s White Night festival. Ironically he played his first international headline show in Victoria, Canada that is.
The One Eye Open film clip marks the last in a long list of first’s for Roscoe and he achieved all this, and more, whilst completing a 70 date world tour playing horn in The Cat Empire, arranging strings and horns for albums by Gossling, Vance Joy, Josh Pyke, The Cat Empire and The Bamboos and touring with Vance Joy, Ella Hooper, Ruby Boots, Tinpan Orange and Grizzly Jim Lawrie.
