Old Man River returns from Tel Aviv for ONE show
Posted on 12 Feb 2013
OLD MAN RIVER is hitting Australia next month for one show only at FBI Social Club, Sydney, Wednesday 6th March before heading off to New York City to record his new album.
His intimate Sydney show will include new material written overseas and crowd favourites such as Sunshine, You’re On My Mind, Summer and La from his albums Good Morning and Trust.
Leaving for Tel Aviv last year, Old Man River spent the last 6 months integrating with that city’s dynamic local music scene whilst spending time with his family. During this time the travelling troubadour has been witness to the warfare facing the country yet managed to continue with his special musical projects. From collaborating with African refugees to working on a newly created ska-roots-reggae project, Old Man River is yet again broadening his creative outlook.
Drawing on his wide encounters overseas, his new works will surely be bountiful in the sort of storytelling heard at his performance at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg last year.
Joining Old Man River on the night is MAPLES, Gabrielle Huber’s (Dead Letter Chorus) solo project, and Steven Harris (aka Magicsteven) who will be doing a short spoken word set. “A must see” says Old Man River.
