Old Man River chosen to perform for the Dalai Lama

Old Man River has been handpicked to perform for the Dalai Lama at an exclusive Perth only concert Sunday June 19th . The once in a lifetime experience will celebrate the journey of Nobel Laureate, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet with over 7 hours of incredible music.
Joining Old Man River for "Songs for the Dalai Lama: Sharing a Common Journey" will be THE DALAI LAMA himself and performances by TIM ROGERS, TEX PERKINS AND THE DARK HORSES, GURRUMUL, KATIE NOONAN'S ELIXIR TRIO, LIOR WITH STRING QUARTET to name a few. All artists are donating their talent and time for charities supported by His Holiness for the benefit of the people of Tibet.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatsos is both the head of state and the spiritual leader of Tibet. He was born on 6 July 1935, to a farming family, in a small hamlet located in Taktster, Amdo in north-eastern Tibet. At the age of two the child, who was named Lhamo Dhondup at that time was recognised as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso. The Dalai Lamas are believed to be manifestations of Avalokiteshvara or Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion and patron saint of Tibet.
