Mama Kin new clip Rescue and National Tour

Posted on 1 Mar 2013

With the release of Mama Kin's album The Magician's Daughter, arrives a brand new clip for the song 'Rescue' and a National Tour launching today at Nannup Music Festival.

With its swirling melody and hypnotic marimba rhythms Rescue, the second single from Mama Kin's new album The Magician's Daughter out through MGM Distribution, heralds the arrival of a self-realised woman, no longer waiting for her knight in shining armour. Premiered on Triple J's Home And Hosed website the video was shot underwater (we can't wait to see Behind The Scene's footage!!!) and directed by Andrew Nowrojee (San Cisco, Felicity Groom), shot by Robert Castiglione with post production by Caitlan O'Connor.

"Although Rescue was inspired by childhood fantasies of being whisked away to a new life of romance and eternal happiness, a newfound wisdom celebrates the fact that we are all in control of our own destiny," Mama Kin says. "Cut your own hair Rapunzel and abseil out of the tower - then blow it up!"

"lashings of pop nous" - Rolling Stone

"The result is hypnotic" - Stack Magazine

"Feisty, full of heart and melody…seductive and tender" - ABC Radio

"Album opener “Rescue” is a pleasant surprise, clearly drawing inspiration from 1950s pop." - Tone Deaf
