Lucy Durack, one of Australia’s leading ladies of screen and stage (“Wicked” and the highly anticipated feature film Goddess to name but a few) has added her own touch to an Alberts classic song 'Heading In the Right Direction' which will be released on her forthcoming debut album 'Dream A Little Dream'.
Her debut album is a collection of well known, well loved covers of easy listening classics as well as original songs written by Lucy herself. Her first single is a beautiful rendition of Renée Geyer’s ‘Heading In The Right Direction’ written by Garry Paige and Mark Punch and was produced at Alberts by Head of Creative Development, Michael Szumowski.
"I am so excited to be releasing this, my first album”, says Durack, “That is filled with songs I have loved all my life as well as a few new ones that I am so happy to share. Growing up in suburban Perth, I sang these songs in my bedroom a lot so getting to record them really is a dream come true. I firmly believe in dreaming and then working towards your goals- whatever they may be - until they become a reality. If I can do it - you can too."
In addition to her debut album release, Lucy is about to embark on a lengthy run of performances as the leading role of “ELLE” in “LEGALLY BLONDE – The Musical” which opens at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney from October 4.
Lucy Durack will release her debut album entitled “Dream A Little Dream” through ABC Music/Universal on September 14.
