Lucy Durack’s ‘Dream A Little Dream’, a collection of well-known songs is released this week.
The collection of well known, well loved covers and original songs, was produced by Alberts writer/producers Jake Mason and Michael Szumowski and recorded Albert Studios. Alberts publish nine of the 12 songs on the album from both the rich historic catalogue and original songs which Lucy co-wrote with Alberts writers Jake Mason and Emi Green.
Lucy has fast become one of Australia’s leading ladies of screen and stage with a list of major roles to her credit, most recently including Glinda the Good Witch in the original Australian cast of the Broadway smash hit musical “Wicked”.
"I am so excited to be releasing this, my first album”, says Lucy, “That is filled with songs I have loved all my life as well as a few new ones that I am so happy to share. Growing up in suburban Perth, I sang these songs in my bedroom a lot so getting to record them really is a dream come true. I firmly believe in dreaming and then working towards your goals- whatever they may be - until they become a reality. If I can do it - you can too."
In addition to her debut album release, Lucy is about to embark on a lengthy run of performances as the leading role of “ELLE” in “LEGALLY BLONDE – The Musical” which opens at the Lyric Theatre in Sydney this week.
