Posted on 7 Dec 2011
Greg "Champs" Champion (Alberts songwriter) and his good mate Colin "Bucko" Buchanan are celebrating 15 years of "Aussie Christmas" albums with a Bumper Bonus Edition of the Australian Christmas favourite, out through MGM Distributions.
The newly packaged 'Aussie Christmas with Bucko & Champs Bonus Bumper Edition' is a 2 CD set featuring the two original Aussie Christmas albums with classics like "Aussie Jingle Bells" and "We Wish You A Ripper Christmas" , karaoke versions and five brand new bonus tracks.
With over 100,000 copies sold, Bucko and Champs is an Aussie success story like no other, becoming as synonymous with Christmas in this country as prawns on the barbie and Dad passing out after lunch. From kids’ primary school pantomimes to Grandma’s cassette deck, households around Australia turn to Bucko and Champs every Christmas to spread peace and goodwill towards blokes and sheilas everywhere.
Pairing up in 1996 for the album “Aussie Christmas”, Colin “Bucko” Buchanan and Greg “Champs” Champion were already household names, Bucko with his seven time Golden Guitar-winning country music career and regular gig on Play School and Champs for his role as part of Melbourne radio’s Coodabeen Champions and as the AFL’s #1 footy troubadour, penning anthems like “The Thing About Football”.
2011’s “Aussie Christmas with Bucko & Champs Bonus Bumper Edition” is a 2CD set featuring both earlier albums as well as five brand new classics- “Dangerous Toys”, “Completely Useless Gifts”, “Yobbo Santa”, “Old Man Christmas” and “Days of Aussie Christmas” as well as 22 karaoke versions, perfect for that post barbie wind down on Christmas day.
