Alberts welcomes Mama Kin
Posted on 16 Jan 2013
With the brand new year comes an exciting addition to Alberts.
We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome the songs and sounds of Mama Kin (aka Danielle Caruana) with the announcement that Mama Kin’s published works will be represented and managed by Alberts worldwide.
As mischievous as she is charming, Fremantle’s Mama Kin is the ultimate raconteur and all-out entertainer. With a widespread reputation for her unique blend of foot-stomping soul, New Orleans-inspired bass lines, coupled with ballads of open-hearted tenderness and stirring live shows, the relationship between Alberts and Mama Kin comes a month before she releases her sophomore album ‘The Magician’s Daughter’ (released February 22nd via MGM)
Songs from her new album brim with her signature soul and raw emotion and mine the very depths of the human condition in search of connection and release. From the rousing guitar-driven energy of The Fire to the subtle ukulele picking of The River As She Runs and the brooding melancholy of Cherokee Boy married with the pop leaning of Rescue, Mama Kin journeys through the full spectrum of emotion. A sorcerer of free will and individuality, Mama Kin has earned a reputation for harnessing strength in vulnerability.
Following the critically acclaimed debut ‘Beat and Holler’, The Magician’s Daughter, created with producer Jan Skubiszewski (Jackson Jackson, Owl Eyes, The Cat Empire) is an expansion, in songwriting, production and performance.
Mama Kin joins recently signed Triple J Unearthed winner Jessica Cerro and composer Petra Salsjo who both joined Alberts at the end of 2012 plus existing writers Urthboy, David Guetta, Gotye, Megan Washington, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Wayne Connolly, San Cisco and AC/DC to name only a few of Alberts wonderful group of songwriters.
Welcome Mama Kin!
