AC/DC awarded ARIA

The nominations for the 2011 ARIA Awards were announced today.

Alongside the 2011 nominations was the presentation of the Artisan Awards including Producer of the Year, Engineer of the Year and Best Music DVD.

AC/DC Live at River Plate was awarded Best Music DVD.

The DVD was shot in Buenos Aires, Argentina in full HD using 32 cameras.

The performance was part of AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour with over 180 shows performing before over 4.9 million people

The DVD debuted #1 in Australia and in 16 other countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Argentina, Canada, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden, New Zealand, Austria, Chile, Hungary, Finland and Italy.

Alberts songwriter Megan Washington received ARIA nominations for Best Female Artist and Best Pop Release

The 25th Aria Award ceremony will be held at Sydney Olympic Park’s Allphones Arena on Sunday 27 November and will feature performances from the Gotye, Drapht and Boy & Bear
