Bad Veins

debut album set for Australian release

Bad Veins are a rarity in today's musical landscape: They didn't set out to become critical darlings or a "buzz" band but managed to achieve both after only a handful of shows.

Bad Veins self titled album is an album that's unique but familiar, not only living up to the hype but surpassing it. It's hard to believe it all started out in a Cincinnati attic a little over two years ago.

The immediate amorous response to the album may be linked to their shows and the ability to accurately replicate their luscious songs with some help from a third member: Irene. The lovingly named antique reel to reel player that handles 50 to 70 extra tracks, allowing the dynamic duo to create huge orchestrations the way they were intended.

The finished album is as cerebral as it is visceral, a cohesive collection of songs sounding like a labour of love not an attempt to move units. This is especially evident with "Gold And Warm," a track unifying the best parts of the Killers and the Walkmen while retaining the band's indie sensibility and Midwestern roots.
